ICRC to expand Syria humanitarian efforts beyond US$100 mln plan

DAMASCUS, Jan 6 — The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) plans to expand its work in Syria significantly beyond an initial US$100 million (RM451.1 million) programme, the organisation’s president said today, citing pressing needs in the health, water and power sectors.

Hamas hands over 13 Israeli captives to Red Cross

ANKARA, Nov 26 — The Palestinian group Hamas handed over 13 Israeli captives held in Gaza at midnight Saturday to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as part of a prisoner swap deal with Israel.
